3G Rugby Turf Maintenance and Aftercare

We have long recognised that an appropriate and disciplined maintenance regime is critical to the long-term performance quality of any artificial turf facility. The capital cost of installing an artificial sports turf pitch is significant and maximising the return on your original capital investment will be at the forefront of any sound business case for this asset. The general misconception that artificial turf pitches are maintenance free is slowly becoming a thing of the past.

Emphasis on the need for regular maintenance, monitoring and inspections is recognised by The FA, IRB (International Rugby Board), FIH (International Hockey Federation), EHB (England Hockey Board) and ITF International Tennis Federation and will often be a condition within product warrantees. Maintenance is recognised as fundamental to ensuring artificial pitch performance and safety for players; it cannot be ignored.

We understand that each and every sports facility is different with diverse user groups, variety of sports played, frequency of use as well as more site specific factors. And therefore as an integral part of our proposals for your new or upgraded facility, we include a bespoke recommended maintenance programme which depending on your preferences can be built into the relevant contract for typically a period of anything between 1 and 5 years.

If you wish us to carry out the programme through our specialist artificial turf maintenance division. the range of treatments may include:

  • Drag brushing
  • Grooming
  • Chemical treatments for algae and weed management
  • Power Brushing
  • Infill levels management
  • Line marking

The frequency of a works may be weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly depending on the recommended programme and your budget. After each visit you receive a condition report which confirms the actions completed, the current condition of the artificial grass pitch and any suggested additional aftercare issues which need to be considered and/or addressed.
