Case Study: Connahs Quay

3G Artificial Turf Pitch for Football

Based at the Deeside Stadium, Connah’s Quay Nomads’ first team plays in the Welsh Premier League and wanted to provide a new 3G football turf pitch for their very successful Academy.

In just the first two months following completion, some 5000 players had the opportunity to play on the new facility, located at Connah’s Quay High School, which along with the local community, also use the pitch.

An existing sand-filled artificial grass hockey pitch was removed and the surfacing footprint extended to accommodate a larger 3G football turf pitch. 42mm FieldTurf 360XL installed over an in-situ bound rubber shock pad was selected as the playing system. A new pitch sub-base was constructed complete with lateral drainage system and supplemented by new perimeter fencing and upgraded floodlighting.
